About
Extended Roots is a group of people who come together from diverse backgrounds with one common passion: love of music. From professional lives in education, health, information technology, food science, management, and art, we were first drawn to music simply as recreation. After over 20 years of playing together, we now find increasing gratification in seeing the joy our music brings to our audiences.
Building on a base of American Folk traditions – old time, bluegrass, Scotch/Irish, and traditional fiddle tunes – we have found our niche in playing multiple-genre music that we feel uplifts the spirit, sets toes tapping, and celebrates the joy of connecting through music. From Americana to Irish, vintage to contemporary, we choose to play the music we want to hear. We think you’ll enjoy our music, too!
